Twisted Storytellers Tackle Race and Racism

DETROIT, MI –– The Secret Society of Twisted StorytellersⓇ will tackle race and racism with five storytellers who will tell true, personal stories live onstage. The award-winning, monthly event has received outstanding reviews and has been recognized for its artistic and cultural contribution to Detroit,


"Storytelling is a way for people to learn more about themselves and each other," says Juanita Moore, president of the Charles H. Wright Museum, which hosts the events. "People coming to these shows experience a feeling of life, growth and excitement through connecting, and that deserves a place to be showcased." 


"I ain't seen nothing like it," says Dick Gregory. "Stay in touch with the storytellers. It can heal." 


The Society's next event "Race" will take place Friday, April 21st, 8PM at The Wright Museum, 315 E. Warren Avenue, Detroit, MI 48201. Rev. David Alexander Bullock, radio host, Frank Joyce, writer/activist, Lucia Kellerman-Eggert, graphic designer, Mayowa Lisa Reynolds, educator and Stewart Shevin, film editor will tell true, personal stories on the theme.
