Up Next...
This Saturday, May 26th from 11:30-1:30peg herringMI author Peg Herring visits Saturn  for a "sit and sign" for the second book in her Dead Detective Mystery series, Dead for the Money.

Wed., June 6th at 6:30 skeleton box
Join us for the Michigan debut of Bryan Gruley's third Starvation Lake mystery, The Skeleton Box.

It's a party... so there might be refreshments and a gift or two involved...

This is a free, ticketed event.

katrinaThere are still spaces available in the fiction writing workshop with the fabulous Katrina Kittle on Fri evening and Sat., June 8 & 9.  Get the full scoop here.

...and that's just the beginning.  Next in June I've invited Camile Noe Pagan to share her first novel, The Art of Forgetting, with us.  I think if you enjoy Laura Moriarty's writing (and enjoyed meeting her here a few years ago), you'll love Camille's book.  She is ONLY coming here, and only because I thought you'd like her, so please plan to be here to give her a big Gaylord welcome!   Go ahead - click here to get your free tickets now!

And then...it's bestselling mystery author Linda Castillo - we all read her Amish mysteries and her new one, Gone Missing, will blow you away - guaranteed! gone missing

Greetings!

Summer fun is starting already - and our next event is Saturday!

I've tried to simplify our event info for you this summer, so by clicking HERE, you can see all of the events that we have planned at a glance...(remember this is a work in progress - we've added two events just since my last email - so be sure to check often!).

With authors of mysteries to romances to non-fiction to kids' books to literary fiction, we've got your whole family covered with a fantastic line-up of smart, interesting writing.  Please plan to join us, and, to help make it even more fun, forward this email to your friends and invite them to come, too!

*Quick note about our free tickets:  the vast majority of our events are free, but many require a ticket. We use the tickets to plan our set-up and refreshments, so, when asked, please just call, stop in or email us, or visit SaturnBooksellers.com, click on the free ticket button for your desired events, then just follow the check out directions (quantity, etc.).  Note:  you will be directed to input your credit card number in order to 'complete' your free ticket order, but your card will NOT be run, and, in fact, we never even see your credit card number!

See ya at the bookstore (please - it's that eerily quiet time before Memorial Day when I always freak out that no one is shopping downtown, so, for all our mental health, pop in soon - haha!)

New JK Rowling Book Announced...
jk rowling
Ok, Harry Potter fans...the moment you've been waiting for has come - it's official - J K Rowling's next book, a novel written for adults, will release on Sept. 27th.

Click here to read more AND to save 20% when you pre-order your copies from Saturn!  I'm discounting pre-orders so that I can get a sense for how many  copies I'll need to have on hand.  You can help me out by ordering on the web or in the store today...thanks!

Note:  Although the automated info on our website says August, Ms. Rowling's publisher, Hachette, tells us the street date will indeed be Sept. 27th...

Books I've Liked Lately...
Bring Up the Bodies by Hilary Mantel.  bring up bodies
The Booker Prize winner of
Wolf Hall
returns with the further adventures of Henry VIII's court as fictionalized biography of Thomas Cromwell.  Fantastic!

Our friend Jeanne Ray is back with another witty girls' book,
Calling Invisible Women
.  calling invisible women

When Clover wakes one morning and looks in the mirror, she finds that she is invisible - literally!  To make a strange situation stranger still, no one in her family even notices...but you can see the book - right on the front counter at Saturn!

Waiting for Sunrise
by William Boyd reminds me of early Follet, LeCarre or Forsyth, because right to the end I wasn't positive I had the bad guys sorted from the good guys.  It's hard to 'get' me, so I really liked this thriller in which a man is duped into spying for the British during WWI.
Order it online at SaturnBooksellers.com.  waiting for sunrise

Oh, oh...and Gone Girl.   Positively my favorite mystery so far this year.  Gillian Flynn has crafted a he-said, she-said in which you can't believe anything he says - or she says - but you know it's not gonna be happily-ever-after.
gone girl
It's not available until next month, but you can
preorder it now on SaturnBooksellers.com, and you SHOULD!
