GPPL has launched STEP
(Study-Tutoring-
Enrichment Program) at the Woods Branch on school days, during the hours of 3:30-5:30pm. We offer homework resources, computer workshops & other enrichment programs.

 

We are looking for

Literacy Tutors: assist students one-on-one or in small groups to help them read and comprehend material in

their grade level.

Homework Help Tutors: provide assistance with projects and assignments

Friends of the Grosse Pointe Public Library invite you to their Annual Meeting & Award Ceremony. Mike Skinner, Ford Historian, will address "The Legacy of Edsel and Eleanor Clay Ford" as 2012 marks the centennial of the Ford's meeting at Annie Ward Foster's Etiquette School in Detroit.

Free One-Day Vehicle Permit

For a fourth summer, the DNR and the Library of Michigan are offering Park & Read. GPPL patrons can "check-out" a one day free vehicle pass into any Michigan State Park and Recreation Area or historical sites in the Michigan Historical Museum System. The one-day pass, a $10 savings, also provides free, one-time access to any of the more than 500 events scheduled to take place within the state parks throughout the summer. Passes are valid for seven days from checkout and are good for day use only.
Notice of Availability of Library Board Trustee Positions

Three vacancies on the Grosse Pointe Public Library Board of Trustees will exist as of

June 30, 2012 at the end of the regular term of office of those trustees representing

Grosse Pointe Park, Grosse Pointe Woods and Grosse Pointe Shores. Each position is for

a four (4) year term (July 1, 2012-June 30, 2016) Applicants must reside in the

represented municipality and be a registered voter.

Applications are available online (pdf) or at the Central Library Administrative Office (313-343-2325), 10 Kercheval, Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Applications must be submitted to the Secretary of the Library Board, no later than

Friday, May 4, at 5:00 p.m.

MUZZY Online

New Muzzy Languages!

New languages have been added to our Muzzy Foreign Language Database.

Currently, children may play games and practice foreign language skills in Spanish, French, Italian, and German.

Over the summer, new activities will be added in Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, and Russian! Check our website under the Youth Services dropdown menu.
