Meet Three Authors & Illustrators
You're Invited! The Chelsea District Library invites you to its third annual Authors in Chelsea event the evening of Tuesday, March 27. This literary event brings three nationally known children's authors and illustrators to Chelsea to present workshops to area schools during the day and to visit the library in the evening to give brief presentations, answer questions, and sign books. Books will be available for purchase, courtesy of Chelsea's Just Imagine bookstore.

Tony Abbott - author of more than 75 books for elementary readers including The Secrets of Droon series, the new Goofballs series, Firegirl, winner of the Golden Kite Award for Fiction in 2007, and The Postcard, winner of the Edgar Award for the Best Juvenile Mystery novel in 2009.
Authors in Chelsea is a joint venture of the Chelsea District Library and Chelsea School District and made possible with funding from the Target Corporation, the Chelsea Education Foundation, and the Friends of Chelsea District Library.

Jazz Jam, Jr.
A hands-on, dynamic first jazz experience for children! Kids will improvise melodies, create riffs and rhythms, and listen to a jazz story with Chelsea Center for the Arts instructor, Tara Vesprini. Free! In partnership with Chelsea Center for the Arts.
The library will be closed Friday, March 23 for a staff in-service and Sunday, April 8 in observance of Easter Sunday.
