Governor Snyder Recommends $6.15 Million for MCACA
Earlier this month, Governor Snyder released his Fiscal Year 2013 Executive Budget Recommendations calling for $6,150,000 for the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA). The recommendation represents an investment of $5 million in state General Fund / General Purpose dollars and $1.15 million in federal dollars from the National Endowment for the Arts. Overall, the recommendation would mean an increase of $3,582,600 from FY12 to FY13 - nearly quadrupling the state's investment in arts and culture!

'Creative Impact' E-Zine & Events
In May 2011, ArtServe launched 'Creative Impact Michigan', a statewide e-magazine and events website, with monthly video features. Hosted at CreativeImpactMichigan.com, the e-publication focuses on fresh and positive news, as well as events, that promote the state's growing creative sector and its impact on Michigan communities. 'Creative Impact Michigan' is delivered biweekly (2nd and 4th Thursday of each month) and has covered nearly 70 stories across the state!
ArtServe has a new website - visit ArtServeMichigan.org and please let us know what you think! We've improved the layout of the new site so that it connects directly to ArtServe microsites such as CreativeStateMI.org and CreativeImpactMichigan.com while helping the organization to enhance management of e-communications, announcements, and constituent relationships. The site also has been designed to increase transparency so that visitors are more quickly connected to ArtServe events, press and media coverage focused on our statewide work, and also professional development opportunities for/from the sector including job postings and calls for art. Check out the new website here and be sure to 'Follow' us on Twitter and Like us on Facebook as well!
