Changes in Library Hours for 2012

Due to continuing decreasing revenue, the Auburn Hills Public Library will be shifting and reducing service hours as part of a budget balancing strategy.

Beginning January 2, 2012 the new hours are:

  • Monday - Thursday: 10 am - 9 pm
  • Friday: Closed
  • Saturday: 10 am - 6 pm (Extended Hours)
  • Sunday: Closed

The Library Board carefully examined budget options this year. It was not an easy decision to reduce service hours, but in order to balance the budget, it was necessary. The most notable change for the library patrons is the reinstatement of extended Saturday hours. The Auburn Hills Public Library Board and Staff are committed to providing the best possible service to the residents of Auburn Hills and are hopeful that these are temporary changes that will be reversed in future years as property values again increase and return Auburn Hills Public Library to its former revenue level.
